Description
Large transparent plastic irrigation pouch with or without filter and drainage port. Pouch is folded at the top edge to form an envelope which possesses an adhesive strip along its length. A metallic strip may also be present at the top edge of the pouch.

Method of use
The pouch is folded to form an envelope to allowtheatre staff to drape the patient aseptically. The envelope is sometimes placed under the patient (e.g., buttocks, head). The large plastic irrigation pouch collects fluids and tissue and provides a waterproof barrierbetween the fluids and the surgical drapes and gowns. The pouchsometimespossesses a filter to enable separation of the body tissue from thefluid.At the bottom edge a drainage port is sometimes presentto allow a suctiondevice to be secured and the fluid to be drained off. An adhesivestrip at the top of the drape, allows the pouch to be secured todrapes.A metal strip may also be present to enable the drape to be contouredaround the shape of the operating table.
